You Too Can Live With Depression - Here's How

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joe_Simmons]Joe Simmons All right let's just cut to the root of the problem. Being depressed sucks! It's embarrasing, it limits your productivity, it destroys otherwise great relationships because the other person involved doesn't understand what you're going through and, after a period of time when things don't change, some think that you're just full of crap and either hit the road or tell you to do so. Let's see if the way you're feeling can be summed up? Your self worth can be scraped up in a dust pan. You're feeling pretty crummy. Things feel pretty hopeless or feel as if they'll never get any better. You hurt all over! You thought that being depressed was just a "mental thing", but this thing that you've got hurts from head to toe. What's up with that?! You've had thoughts of taking your own life. First of all, don't do it. Second, you need to realize that you're not alone and that things will get better or at least more manageable over time. Third, you're not the only person to ever have these feelings. You need to seek out others that experience these symptoms and find out what they do to manage their daily lives. You need to see a doctor for your symptoms, however people suffering from depression often have their hopes shattered once they begin taking antidepressants and two months later they not only don't feel much better, but they've also got a whole lot of side effects from the medication to deal with. Oh, that's the other good news. Only about 70% of the people taking antidepressants get any relief at all and of those 70%, many only get partial relief. Isn't this illness just freakin' wonderful!!!??? You may think that this article is meant to be sarcastic or maybe even mean or hateful. Maybe it is, to a point. It's coming from a position of being the person described above. It's coming from the point of view of a good, caring person that has "been there, done that" and totally understands and sympathizes with anyone else that suffers from these symptoms. It's coming from someone that would give just about anything to pass this on to that person that doesn't "get it" or understand for just around thirty seconds, when it's at it's worst, so that they could look at people with this illness in a different light. As previously stated, the "good, caring" person wouldn't wish this on anyone for any length of time, regardless of their lack of compassion and understanding. The bottom line here? The "moral" of the story? The "solution" to the problem? When you find it please let me know. In the meantime try to keep your chin up, associate with others that DO understand you and care about you, DON'T do anything stupid like hurting yourself, work hard every day to love yourself, regardless of how you feel. Look out the window and watch people walking or driving down the street. Do you see anyone out there that's perfect? Then don't you worry about being perfect either. God bless. Career Opportunities: Telemetry Technician

By Keith Londrie Peter Parker aka Spiderman, once said, "With great power comes great responsibility". While we don't have Parker's rsum, he may have temporarily worked as a telemetry technician before opting for a relatively relaxed profession of freelance photography. To understand the responsibilities of a telemetry technician, one needs to understand telemetry first. Telemetry or "remote measurement" is a highly automated communications process by which measurements are made and other data collected at remote, inaccessible or dangerous places, such as orbiting satellites, and then relayed to receiving stations on ground for display, monitoring, and recording. The telemetry technician has many different job responsibilites. The telemetry technician has a wide variety of career opportunities which may include monitoring of large, complex systems such as chemical plants, oilrigs, satellites, electric power plants, gathering meteorological data, remote meter reading, logistics management, tracking endangered land and marine species, real time physiological monitoring of patients, and monitoring manned and unmanned space flights. If you are a telemetry technician charged with the maintenance of a telemetry service of any type, it is suggested that before your accept the contract, you or the owner of the equipment take possession of a service manual for that particular system. Essential information required for any effective servicing work includes the following: - Assigned carrier frequency for the system - Type of modulation, bandwidth (deviation), and maximum data rate - Level and frequency of all pilot tones and sub-carriers - Significance of each frequency in the modulation bandwidth - Expected signals at input and output test points for each sub-section - Sense of logic, baud rate of data and error correction scheme If the source of the data is a remote station, which forms an integral unit with the radio equipment, you will also need information on the type and location of the sensor supplying the original information and details of any preliminary data processing that may be done before the input to the radio link. The telemetry technician in command of this great technology should monitor it conscientiously. For instance, for many environmental monitoring duties, such as stream gauging or automatic weather stations, the measurement values are unlikely to change significantly for many hours at a time. In such cases, it would be grossly uneconomical in terms of both electrical power and use of spectrum space to run the telemetry transmitter continuously. This is why telemetry transmitters are not often run continuously. Keith Londrie II is a well known author.
